Stay close
to reality.

A practical, open inquiry into how the quality of our connections shapes the quality of what we do.

CONNECTION / FIELD

The quality of our actions depends on the quality of our connections.

We can be intelligent, sincere, experienced, and still act from a distance from what is actually happening.

We plan. We remember. We imagine. We react. Sometimes our own internal activity becomes the main reference for what we do next.

Connected Human begins with a simple question: can reality still influence what happens next?

Reality Drift

Attention and internal activity can become disconnected enough from what is happening that present reality no longer adequately informs the next action.

Not a diagnosis. Not a moral failure. A condition we can learn to notice — and a relationship we can practice returning to.

Thinking, planning, imagining, and remembering are not the problem.

The question is whether reality can still influence what happens next.

There is another way to act.

Thinking has a place. Planning has a place. Imagination has a place. Intention has a place.

The question is whether reality can still revise our next move — or whether our own activity has become the only reference point.

Self-generated action

Driven mainly by what we already carry: thought, habit, belief, expectation, and inherited patterns.

Reality-guided action

The person still has intention. But reality becomes the reference for the next action.

Intention →Action →Reality →Feedback →Refined action

The goal is not to eliminate intention. It is to keep intention connected to reality.

We have seen it before.

A soldier responding to an attack on the border.

A police officer confronting a terrorist or armed attacker.

A surgeon responding to an unexpected development during an operation.

An elite athlete responding to an opponent's movement.

A pilot responding to a rapidly changing emergency.

In moments like these, action cannot rely on intention alone. Training and purpose matter, but the situation itself continuously informs the next move.

The person still has intention. But reality becomes the reference for the next action.

Recognizable observations, not scientific proof.

DIRECTION / RESPONSE

What could change in everyday life?

When reality can influence what we do next, ordinary situations may become easier to respond to rather than simply react to.

We may notice a mistake sooner. Change our response when a conversation takes an unexpected turn. Recognize when a plan is no longer working. Adjust when circumstances change. Recover after getting off track.

These are not promises or outcomes to believe in. They are possibilities to test in life.

The question is simple:

When something does not go as expected, can reality still change what I do next?

Life keeps changing. Our action has to remain able to change with it.

Everyday life is full of moments when what we expected, intended, or felt is different from what is actually happening. We can continue from our own internal activity, or allow reality to change the direction of what we do.

Practice is an opportunity to become more responsive in those moments: to notice sooner when we are off track, react less automatically when something unexpected happens, change course when an approach is no longer working, and recover after a mistake or disruption.

These are possibilities to test, not promises to believe.

Not yet proven does not mean nonexistent. It means not yet established.

The absence of proof is not proof of absence—but experience is not proof either. Connected Human begins with a possibility: practice it, observe what happens, measure what can be measured, and let reality determine what survives.

Connected Human / 01

A framework for
staying in touch.

Connected Human is a developing framework for understanding the relationship between connection, action, and human development. It is offered as a working language — not a finished doctrine.

Connection is a condition of action.

The quality of our actions depends on the quality of our connections. This does not remove intention or agency. It asks whether intention stays permeable to what is real.

REALITY →DIRECTION →ACTION →FEEDBACK →REFINED ACTION
Self-generated action

The next move comes mainly from inside the loop.

A plan, a habit, or a prior explanation can keep producing action even when the situation has changed. Intention still matters; the question is whether it can be revised.

Reality-guided action

The situation gets a meaningful say.

Direction and agency remain intact, while observations can alter what happens next. This is the relationship the framework is interested in making more available.

When the map stops listening.

Reality Drift is what we call the condition in which attention and internal activity become disconnected enough from what is happening that present reality no longer adequately informs the next action.

Thoughts and planning are not the problem. The question is whether reality can still influence what happens next. Drift can be subtle, ordinary, and recoverable.

Three laws.

The framework in its most concise form.

01

BODILY CONNECTION

Enter reality through the body.

Recognize the body's present state and allow a peripheral part — such as a hand or foot — to become naturally active.

The aim is not to consciously choose the body part, but to notice what is naturally becoming active in the present state.

02

POINTED DIRECTION

Let one peripheral leader give direction to action.

When connection is maintained, a peripheral leader can establish one direction of action, reducing the need to consciously coordinate competing movements.

One stable leader. One direction.

When connection is lost: Competing directions → drift → unnecessary mistakes

03

ADAPTIVE CONTINUITY

Use the result of action to determine what happens next.

When the action works: Continue.

When failure, drift, or unnecessary mistakes appear: Recognize → reconnect → measure → adapt → continue.

Connect.
Point.
Adapt.

Interact with the human-body simulator to experience the sequence: connect with the present body, establish pointedness through one peripheral direction, and adapt that direction as the situation changes.

CONNECT POINT ADAPT
Stage: Bodily Connection (Stable reference)
Connect

Enter reality through the present body. Notice whether you are sitting, standing, walking, or moving. The body is the starting reference; a peripheral part can then become naturally active.

Point

Let pointedness emerge through one stable peripheral direction. Here the hand and extended finger make the direction visible while the whole body remains connected.

One stable leader. One direction.

Adapt

Keep the body and direction in contact with a changing situation. When the result changes, the body-in-motion adapts the direction; if drift appears, reconnect, adapt, and continue.

Working principles, not established scientific laws. The basic practice is intentionally simple. More specific sensorimotor findings and experimental variations belong to advanced programs and research.

MEASUREMENT

Measure when action fails, drift appears, or the result is unclear. Measurement is used to turn what happened into useful feedback for the next action — not something to perform continuously.

Outcome

Did it work?

Drift

What changed?

Recovery

Did effective action return?

MEASURE →FEEDBACK →ADAPT →CONTINUE

Measurement is for feedback, not continuous monitoring.

Reality informs the next action.

Feedback informs adaptation. Reality, action, result, and feedback remain connected over time. The Action-Learning Loop shows how this continues.

REALITY →ACTION →RESULT →FEEDBACK →NEXT ACTION

The Practice tells us how to enter and act. Measurement tells us what to learn when action needs examination.

Presence is something we can return to.

Connected Presence names a practical quality of contact: enough attention to what is happening that the next response can be informed by it. It is not a permanent state. Repeated practice is the point.

We are not asking you to confirm the framework. We are asking you to help us discover what reality tells us.

Where the
question travels.

A framework becomes useful when it can meet different kinds of work without pretending they are the same. These are fields of application and inquiry, not finished answers.

01

Education

Learning and development

What changes when learning stays connected to the learner, the room, and the work that follows?

02

Health & Medicine

Outcomes and adaptation

How might care keep listening to the person and the changing reality of an outcome?

03

Sport & Performance

Performance and recovery

Recognizable exceptional performance often includes a fine sensitivity to conditions. We treat that as an observation to investigate, not proof.

04

Politics & Governance

Decisions, implementation and outcomes

Can decisions remain connected to what happens after they leave the room?

05

Work & Leadership

Organizational action and learning

How do teams make useful contact with consequences before a pattern hardens?

OPEN INQUIRY / FIELD

No field owns the framework.

Each field gives us a different way to test the relationship between connection, action, feedback, and learning. The work is to observe carefully and let the framework change.
